Jack for 5 tonne m/h

Post  Whistlinggypsy on Mon Jan 09, 2012 7:06 am

What do you m/hers use for jacking the axle for wheel exchange up when you have a m/h up to 5 tonnes in weight, only ever carried a 2 tonne one before but would not trust that on present m/h.

I also don't change wheels myself as I have a very able man that can at the end of the telephone, but in an emergency you may just have to get the wife to change a wheel, maybe at the side of the motorway or on a dark and wet country road miles from anywhere and one would like to keep her as safe as possible.

I don't think you can Bob, Barrie has always said he would have to call the breakdown service to do ours if we got a puncture. I think the important thing is to have a spare wheel so it can be changed.

I sort of guessed that Jan, and I certianly would not try and change a wheel on my beast (Barb might affraid ) I would do a Barrie and get on the blower, I was just thinking that if we went to the Peloponnese or Morocco or even Turkey next winter (planning 2012/2013 winter trip) it would be foolish not to carry something but the weight of such a big jack is putting me of.
